Shoes shoes shoes

I'm usually one who chooses comfort over cute (though my partner may disagree), but with an audition up ahead I'm trying to decide which pair of dress shoes will convey my "performer self". Mainly, my go-to pair is are 3" patent leather d'Orsay heels, but this particular director likes to always comment that I'm "too tall" in the studio. Mostly, I'd like to tell him to go fly a kite and stop being Clinton from "What Not to Wear" when he should be focusing on my voice, but this makes me consider a different pair of low-heeled maryjanes. Which are cute, really, but don't have the oomph of my preferred pair. And, no, Pamina (or whomever) does not wear wrap dresses, either.
